this would be the third and final offering from this new company. although I am holding out hope that they are wildly successful and expand their line, I mean maybe just a ginger root beer, chocolate root beer, coffee root beer, cinnamon root beer, vanilla root beer, lime birch beer, caramel root beer and cherry root beer are not so much to ask. right? right!
I suppose butterscotch is the most masculine flavor in the line up as instead of pin up girls on the label we get this sort of pin up guy. he is a greaser-ish looking dude with a lot of tattoos and of course a half unbuttoned collared shirt with the sleeves removed with obviously a sleeveless vets over top. although come to think of it, all vests are sleeve-free otherwise they wouldn’t be a vest. all of this is on some playing cards. now, I got a free deck of cards when I pre-ordered a case of their soda which I have not opened. but I suspect this fellow is on there, perhaps the Jack or King…
there are, at this point, several butterscotch root beers out there, but it is still quite a novelty and one I full encourage. it is a good combo, but often times comes off just too sweet.
this is right there on that line. very sweet yes but not quite too much. the butterscotch is quite strong and very much dominates the taste. this I am also ok with. there is a bit of a root beer on the back end, behind that butterscotch. nevertheless, blindfolded I don’t know if a lot of people, me included, would guess this to be a butterscotch root beer. I mean, even beyond the niche-ness of butterscotch root beer in general. it does not totally stand out from other sodas in this sub-genre yet it is one of the better ones. I think if I was in a different mood it might be too sweet but today it is a plus.
