I really have to organize my queue of pending sodas, I have had this one for quite some time. I am sure it is still good though so let’s have at it!
this brew came to me from the stupendous gourmet Eric! as we all know by now, I also reviewed this normal root beer a bit ago, which he sent me as well as he is a very wonderful human. I must admit I do think this is a vanity label thing and not a recipe unique to the Oasis Diner, but who knows really? the label just feels like it was designed and printed by people who do more the quantity thing. which is not to say it looks bad, just some of the registration is a bit off and the sticker kind of label like this usually is from vanity type places. but in any case, I shall try it out.
the initial scent is very much a butterscotch one, oof! I like butterscotch so I am looking forward to trying this. hhhmmm, well it is a bit butterscotch but more just sweet. a few other butterscotch root beers have come across my mouth parts in the past 30 years and usually that flavor really comes out. it is more subtle in this one. the butterscotch is the most prominent flavor though, the root beer part is more a background thing. which I know makes little sense. there is not much flavor in general beyond the sweetness and a bit of butterscotch which does actually build more and kind of isolates in the aftertaste. I am sort of indifferent on this beyond it being overly sweet really. I am not sure I would want this again on purpose unless it is paired which something not at all sweet, like maybe a potato.
