A-Treat Sarsaparilla

hhhhmmm, this soda tastes totally different than it smells. weird. the scent is very herbal, “rooty” if you will excuse the pun. the taste though is rather sweet. it does have a slight kick but on the whole it is pretty root beer-ish. the weirdest part is that i really feel like i taste honey in here, which is not listed. i enjoy it yet i feel it tastes a little kooky. in a good way though really. yummy stuff here. especially for a canned soda.

Back when I lived in PA, I came across a vending machine that sold these cans for 30 cents a can. I could not pass up a 30 cent soda. I took my very first swig of their cream soda and my taste buds felt like fireworks! I went right into the distributor in town and bought 4 whole 6-packs for $5.99 and showed all of my friends this divine soda in a tacky can. now I live in MI and have to pull strings to avoid the horrid cost of having it shipped but I love this soda. You may know of much better sodas but the day of that 30 cent soda will always be in my memories…also it’s the only soda that doesn’t give me heartburn.

Why doesn’t A-Treat use the nice, heavy duty glass bottles anymore?

  3. too expensive and kind of a hassle to get deposits on the bottles and washed & sterilize them and all i would think.
