this is an interesting soda. a sarsaparilla root beer. hhmmm, i suppose that is like a butterscotch root beer or a grape root beer, so the ‘sarsaparilla’ is an adjective in this drink. ok, fine, that’s fine. a little wacky but fine. why ‘Sarsaparilla’ is pretty significantly larger than ‘Root Beer’ i am not sure either, i suppose they want to emphasize the sarsaparilla angle here.
the label tells the tale of Amborse Kristen who came over from Germany to Texas at age 16, his father perishing on the trip so he had to provide for his family. he did of course and bought a soda company at some later point. i don’t think that has anything to do with this soda though. i assume the fellow pictured is him but I could be wrong, very wrong. i feel like there are too many fonts going on here, almost ever phrase is in a different one. i count at least seven different fonts, not including the nutritional info and all of that.
the soda itself is just ok. it is much more a sarsaparilla than a root beer in my mind. there are a lot of herbal notes and flavors here that control it. i like that sometimes, but other times it doesn’t work out quite right. here is in between. i don’t dislike it but I don’t love it. i am unable to quite place the flavor either, it is not something i have had a lot in isolation perhaps. i do give them points for trying something new and different and venturing away from the expected stuff.

This has a rather strange taste, its like they threw some anise and wintergreen and honey or something into it, in a hap-hazard sort of way. I really did not like this one, I give it a 55
Wow, surprised this one got such bad reviews here. This is one of the best root beers I have ever tried. It has this really smooth-creamy flavor that is perfect. It lacks any bitter sort of taste (which I hate, and unfortunately so many root beers have). The spiceness is so perfect I am surprised at the scores Rick and Anthony gave this one. If any one else is reading this article, please give this soda a chance; because it would probably make my top 3 root beers of all time. I will be re-trying it just to make sure though. I gave this one a 95.
After re-tasting this, I have to say it is still just as wonderful. I am not normally a mollasses freak, but the strong molasses flavor in jete is just excellent. I give this a 94.
