so upon entering this soda into my database just now I found out there is a Rocket Fizz location in my state now! it is an hour away, but still, that’s pretty darn rad. it may steal business from my pretend, future micro soda bar but we will just see about that!
the story behind this soda is the owner of Rocket Fizz was on Undercover Boss and bonded with a franchise owner in Florida over the passing of their loved ones. in honor of the franchise owner’s deceased brother, they put out this soda.
most root beer float sodas I have had have not been so good. they try to hard to make them super creamy, which is sort of the point, yet it just tastes kind of rancid. i hope this one was done better.
it actually is not float-like at all so in that regard it fails, but i don’t really care about that in the end. it has a huge head which dissipates very quickly, if that matters to you. it is more an annoyance to me, making sure it does not fizz over the top during the first couple of drinks. it does have a creamy side once the carbonation calms down but it also has a sharp herbal side that masks most of the smoothness. that sharpness is ok but not my favorite flavor or mouth feel. i have a feeling this is just their regular,
