I will admit first off, straight off the bat, that I am apprehensive of this. I mean, I like root beer, rather obviously, and I sort of like orange cream stuff, occasionally, although it is not my favorite flavor. yet together? that does not sound too good. different? sure! and I am all for unusual, new root beers. Northern Soda Company definitely delivers in that regard, with at least a couple new variations every year. granted there is another orange root beer out there, not orange cream of course, but similar enough.
well, this is better than I anticipated. it is more a combination of the two flavors, here orange cream and root beer, than their bing cherry root beer I reviewed a couple weeks ago. the orange taste is much more the dominant flavor than the root beer. but it is more a refreshing taste than I expected to experience. I mean that could be that I am very thirsty currently, but I believe I would think the same regardless. again, this flavor threads that line between the sickly sweet and just enough, staying just on the proper side of that barrier, in my opinion. I don’t think it is a drink I would want all the time, but occasionally I would enjoy this pretty highly. perhaps they will offer this as more than a very shortly available limited edition deal, otherwise this will be the only can I will ever have in any case.
