Swell Riptide Root Beer

California comes through again! there seem to be a few pockets of the country that have a bunch of root beers. one is definitely in the Midwest, from Indianapolis up to Chicago and into Michigan, although those could be three pockets on their own. I would say there is a New Jersey / Pennsylvania as well but perhaps just because I live around there. the northwest, around Seattle seemed to be one for a while but I feel like that has waned in recent years. southern California I feel like also falls in that category, it seemed like Real Soda in Real Bottles was super active and making new cool brews for a while but in my knowledge they have slowed down on the new things. this brew out of San Diego is the latest find for me from the area. it has a very stereotypical California design esthetic to it, from the font choice which I do not know the name of, to the surf motif going on.
i am enjoying this brew for sure. it has a nice cinnamon hint to it that makes for a nice mouth feel and overall taste experience. the root beer taste is pretty spot on beyond that with a creamy smooth taste and a good amount of sweetness. the cane sugar is evident bringing a little more hearty sort of sweetness to it. the carbonation is also dialed in quite well, not taking over the taste in any way but merely there as part of the whole package.
I did buy a bunch of this because I had to but i have traded a good amount of them away, which is a shame in a way as it is very tasty, but also I got other brews in return so that evens it out. really it probably is better to get more things for the purposes of this whole website review thing I have going on here.
