Lidl Root Beer

now this here is the other offering from Lidl! they cater to all types apparently, at least in their soda offerings on the day I bought this. otherwise, their selection is a bit meager in other food stuffs. I mean you either get their brand or nothing. which applied to the soda selection as well really. so this is the more budget offering, a canned soda, with high fructose corn syrup and 92% of my sugar for the day! whoa. so maybe I won’t be finishing this. although I did work out, so perhaps I need to recover and make up some calories, haha.
the style here screams “generic root beer!” which is fine, as it is one of those. and it looks ok. so whatever there.
so granted the taste is also rather generic, but it is rather good, the high end of the generic spectrum. it is a little sad to know this is much better than their glass bottled “craft soda” root beer. as expected it is very sweet. the main flavor is a caramel after the initial standard root beer tastes slowly fades away. I like that. it leaves me with a nice short term memory of it. the carbonation is decent and not offensive, but adding a bit to the experience and taste. this may be one of the best store brand sodas I have had.
