this was another soda I found at that Sprouts I went to in Florida a few weeks ago. strangely enough, before that last review published but after it was written I found that soda in my local supermarket. so perhaps I will find this one nearby before this one sees the light of day. no matter really. as they are both more than the allowed liquid in carry on bags I had to drink them down in Florida and take notes to write these reviews for now,in the then future, my present, but your past when you will be reading this at least two weeks from now.
now, protein soda. I actually make myself protein sodas a few times a week. usually some sugar”free” soda, A&W free, Mug free, Pepsi free, cola free, etc, a scoop of protein powder, put them both in a shaker bottle or the blender and yummy results! and a decent amount of protein. this though has 10g of protein, which is not nothing and better than a regular soda, but still not a whole lot. but you get some fiber too.
nonetheless I wanted to like this, who doesn’t need that bit of protein and fiber in something that ordinarily has none? at first sip it is fine, but it morphs into a kind of dirty, hearty in a bad way flavor. and then after that the Stevia kicks your taste buds. really it is not so much root beer tasting in any sort of traditional sense but more of a creamy, earthy/dirty tea. I could not even finish this sadly. for sure I have drank worse drinks but I would not get this again and will stick to my own homemade protein sodas. I feel like that is an idea someone should use. there are a few ‘root beer float’ sodas out there, even a couple new ones I have to get to myself soon, there really should be a protein root beer float soda. anyway…
