one of the sights in this world that makes me smile every time, beyond the obvious of seeing my children, wife or family in general happy, is that wisp of root beer smoke that comes out when you open a well sealed glass bottle. that just happened and it brought me joy. find the joy in life in the simple things my friends. this one comes from the Root Beer Museum curator himself, Vince! woo, huzzah for Vince! I will really have to get out to his establishment myself one day. apparently Festival Foods is a chain of grocery stores in Wisconsin started in 1946 and still owned by the same family. that is quite cool and good to know. Wisconsin seems to make some excellent root beers as well, but this being a store brand I am not getting too excited here.
oh! that’s good! huh. this may rival the last Aldi offering for best store brand soda out there. it is very strongly flavored with a mostly standard root beer taste and a bit of a bite with some wintergreen which is always something I enjoy. it is also very sweet and that may be my only knock, they go a bit too far in the sweetness. ok, yeah I just looked at the nutrition info, 51 grams of sugar is quite intense! phew! but yeah, if I lived in Wisconsin I would probably get this as my go-to root beer. which is not saying a lot as I don’t drink a lot of soda really beyond for my bi-weekly review. but hey, you never know what would happen in Wisconsin, now do you?! nope you do not sir, good day!
