I am pretty sure I have never had a root beer from Germany so this is a very novel experience for me. I did take German language classes in 3rd grade, but nonetheless I do not actually speak or read it at all at this point, some 40 years later. because of this I will have to use Google translate for the things the can says on it. my expectations are mixed for this, on the one hand I expect it to be kind of bad as most European sodas have not been so good, but then again Germans do drinks and beer well, or so I have been led to believe, so maybe it will be good?
ok, you know what, this is tasty! it is more on the very sweetened, carbonated tea-like side of drinks. it has a strong rooty, herbal taste to it that I fully back and believe in. the strongest flavor here is licorice so if you are not a licorice fan, you won’t enjoy this one. as I said, it is indeed a very sweet drink, not quite too much so but getting there. I like this, it has a nice zing to it. it is also different enough from most root beers with that more licorice edge yet it still is identifiable as a root beer. who would have known that an excellent root beer would come in a can from Germany?! not I!
