so this is the third of the Pittsburgh Soda Pop syrups i am trying. i am not sure what to expect out of the sarsaparilla as they have 4 root beer flavors. although i am never quite sure how each company will interpret sarsaparilla as opposed to root beer when they make both.
i again made this with seltzer, but took out 1.25 cups instead of the recommended 1 cup. it does seem more flavorful than the first 2 so i will try that or even a little more next time. of course i cannot comment on the head or carbonation level as that is up to the individual making it and the methods they use to do so.
this is a tricky one to describe for some reason. it is definitely different from the American Classic Root Beer. there is definite licorice flavor but it does not dominate. it is not creamy at all, and no trace of vanilla is present as far as i can tell. it is a pretty herbal taste. hearty if that makes sense to you. in a good way of course. i enjoy the taste for sure. strange how i like each one of these better than the last. we will see if that lasts of course.

I wish the label stated whether or not it actually contains any sarsaparilla.
This isn’t just Sarsaparilla, it’s Peco Bill’s Sarsaparilla. He was a friend of Samuel L. Root so I’m not surprised that it is good.
