Jackson Hole Soda Company Buckin’ Rootbeer

the recipe for this has changed a bit in the 16 years or whatever since I last tried it. I suspect I did try it again somewhere in between but I have no idea if it was the old recipe or this new one. for all I know they could have been monkeying with it for years and I just noticed. I do recall that is was good before, thus my hope is that they did not wreck it. adding red #40 to it seems kind of dumb to me. I have two kids who can’t have things with artificial colors so that sort of thing limits their audience a bit.
alright, they did not ruin it. definitely not. this right here is a good soda. I don’t think it reaches the ‘amazing’ tier which I think is about where I put it previously, but it is very good. definitely has a good dose of wintergreen which I always enjoy. the thing that drags it down a little for me is this weird bitter-ish taste that forms soon after the swallow. you get the carbonation buzz at first, then swallow and that bitter thing which is taken over by the wintergreen and then fades into a really nice sweet flavor. i gave it a pretty high score anyway, but it could have been better if that was not present.

I’m not that into this one, kinda unsweet despite all the sugar content. Decent carbonation, but not very tasty, kinda bland with some rooty elements. kinda syrupy too.
