and here we are at number five of the special “pop’s day six pack,” Northern Soda Company Maple Root Beer! as I am rather found of maple things, I am looking forward to this. granted most of the other maple root beers I have had were not really very maple tasting. so we shall see how this one stacks up.
oh, ok! this is actually very maple! woo hoo! it really is super good, an excellent balance of root beer and maple, together. neither of the taste really dominate. the start is much more straight up root beer with a hint of maple but it slowly reverses so the maple takes the front spotlight. it gets right to the edge of being too sweet. for some it may be too much so. but as maple is a sweet thing and I enjoy the sweet things, I fully support this move. although I think they do the combination well, as the can gets to the end, the sweetness becomes a bit too much even for me.
