wow, now that is a growler! serious stuff. i did not expect it to be this absurd. i think this one actually cost more than most of the rest of the sodas i bought on this trip combined as well, so there is that. but for a new soda, it was under my max budget. granted that budget could get me a case of many sodas through mailorder. at this location I chatted with a random dude about root beer for quite a while. he was very nice and seemed to be drinking at the bar alone so it was not a bad thing. i suppose that is what happens at bars, it is just so out of my usual realm of experience that i don’t know.
the amazing growler actually preserved the soda very well too. it is now 4 days after filling and it is very carbonated and frothy. this is definitely the most unique tasting root beer from this trip as well. they ventured more off the usual path than a brewery usually does, so that is a pleasant surprise. i have been trying to place just what is the unique flavor in the taste for a while and can’t come up with it. it starts off pretty sharp, a big bubble feel that fades to a sweet caramel but then an aftertaste about 10 seconds later where it gets unusual, it is almost a burnt milk taste. it is not creamy so not a sustained milky taste but for a few seconds you get this interesting mouth feel and flavor, well after the soda is down your throat. I would not say I love the flavor but I do like that they tried something a little different so I give a little bonus credit for that. also the rad growler get some bonus too.

Sometimes “interesting” is more enjoyable than merely “excellent.” I hope I have the opportunity to try this one.
