ah! Northern Soda Company is at it again! lucky for me! although it will be even luckier if this tastes any good. the question there boils down to whether a Minnesota company can do a birch beer right. it is a pretty distinctly North East US / Canada thing with a few exceptions. I have faith in them though. this is a limited edition thing for the winter of 2020 I believe, so get some while you can if you are interested.
well, time to try it! oh. huh. yeah…. this is much more of a fruity / bubblegum soda than it is a birch beer…. I am reminded of Girlin Pink Birch Beer actually, but not quite as good. this is a pale brown birch beer, which should be at least somewhat wintergreen, but I really don’t taste that in here at all. the flavor it does have is alright, but not something I terribly enjoy. it is very sweet as well, alongside of that fruity taste. it is sort of like if you took the taste of the milk after you eat Fruity Pebbles and carbonated it a bit. sort of. I am kind of sad about this I must admit, I hoped it would be delicious and awesome. in part because it is the only Northern Soda Company drink that I had to buy more than one of so I still have three cans of this to go. perhaps the kids will be drinking the rest of this…
